ceilings, few and far between

Exposed using Lomography Spinner 360 on Fuji Reala 100 negative film that I found in my photography closet. It was only a few years past date code....and since the Spinner normally uses 400 speed film, and the sun was going away....

Pushed 2 stops in developing.

Every practicable disclaimer

Ball Valve Engine

This is a ball valve motorcycle engine that was designed and built by my grandfather, in a Jawa speedway bike frame. The shot was scanned from an old print.

My first "real" HDR

My first "real" HDR by fangleman
My first "real" HDR, a photo by fangleman on Flickr.

My first "real" HDR.

It really is best viewed large. Trust me.

Shot from an old shaky tripod. Made from 9 RAW images (see comments below) using Canon 40D with 10-22mm lens, at 10mm. All shots were manually bracketed. Images imported into Photomatix, adjusted, and re-edited in photoshop to give it a nice natural HDR look - or at least as good as I could manage.

Please let me know what you think! I realize it may not be the best composition ever, but I figured it would be a nice HDR challenge to cut my teeth on.

You can see my Lomography Spinner 360 in the window.

I am fairly pleased with the results for a first effort. I learned a lot. Mostly I learned how much I still would need to learn, and how much time and commitment it will take to achieve the level of results that I want.

I swear it was THIS BIG!

Philosophical Inverse Slope Farm Equation.

I asked about the economy. Just blank stares is all I got.

Another one from my old Canon G3. It's a lot easier to take on the bike, than a 40D with 17-55mm, 10-22mm, and 70-200mm lens...

We must be mistaken.

First ride of the year. Some years my first ride was January 1st. Recent years it wasn't until well into spring. I just don't ride like my younger years.

Still, it's March 17th, and I'm on the bike. Gorgeous day. Daffodils are blooming, bright, the air is comfortable, and the sun kisses everything warmly.

But I've noticed a few things. One, I felt like it was no time at all since my last ride. There was no readjusting. Man and machine worked together just like when I parked it last year.

But other riders seemed to change. I don't know if it's just because there is a lot of new riders, or maybe it's been happening slowly and I didn't notice. But only a few riders waved.

For decades I've waved to riders, they waved to me. Just an extended hand as we pass, a recognition that we are part of something different that cagers just don't understand. A camaraderie exists between riders, even as strangers. Where has this gone? Is it just me? Has anyone else the same experience?

Who is this?

Straight from the camera.
I think I used a polarizer on this shot, but it's been a long time since I took it so I can't remember for sure. It does look like I did.

A prerequisite doubt sneaks inside a corrupted experiment.

A continuation of what appears to be a short theme recently. Lines.

Straight from the RAW file except for a small crop and a little small detail sharpening, and a small curves adjustment. So really, not very sttraight form the RAW file.

Conform. Be cool. Or be cast out.
