Meanwhile, back at the office...

Out of camera, small crop, curves, and a little cleanup and slight sharpening. That's all folks. A quickie. An unexpected surprise in the landscape I just had to make an image of.

Days They Pass. Emptiness Fills The Heart.

A view from the other side of the facade.

Canon 40D with the wonderful 10-22mm Canon lens.

Shot at 22mm setting. This image is uncropped and unedited for lens distortion. Only editing was white balance, reducing noise, and converting to B&W.

The mountains all fall to the ground
But I will fear none of these things
Shelter me Lord, underneath your wings"

Premeditated, Passionate Crimes

For the weekly challenge

This is my first Photo Recipe in a long time. I just haven't made any studio shots in a long time. I hope you enjoy this one, and please leave a comment if you have.

Photo Recipe & Strobist Information.

Canon ST-E2 wireless triggered 430EX2 and 580EX2. Both on stands, bounced off ceiling. One camera right, behind subject. The other camera left between subject and camera, with a bounce card to also light the pistol and hand and side of face. A:B ratio was set to reduce the flash output camera right. Flash compensation added to increase flash exposure.

Composing: Have model hold compact mirror, placed so the camera can "see" the reflection of the gun. Hold pistol in camera frame, focus on the end of the pistol in the reflection manually, while composing for proper placement in mirror, and composing the whole image. There are basically 3 compositions inside the whole composition of the image.

Located about 32 miles northeast of Asheville, NC.

Exposed using Kodak Advantix 400 speed film & camera. Scanned using Epson v600 scanner. Minor tweaks in software.

I remember the ads for this bike back in the mid 80's Grade it on a curve. It took me a few years after high school to find a nice copy. I still have it. Needs some work now. I put a lot of miles on it. Best long distance bike I have had. Last of the truly great UJMs.

Followed By Her Past. Stalked By Her Lies.

Queensboro Bridge - P&S camera, edited and uploaded using the iPad

My desktop died a few weeks ago. My Laptop died shortly after that.

I bought an iPad recently. This image was downloaded to it and edited on it and uploaded from my iPad.

The Queensboro Bridge as seen from the Bentley hotel. Spanning the East River... More at the Wiki...

Update:
Re-edited from a "real" computer...
You see, it is VERY difficult to upload tags, groups, and other data from the Flickr app. It's impossible to edit anything but add tags from the web pages using the iPad. Add the image to the map? If the image doesn't have the GPS data in the file, you can't do it.

It's about time for a better flickr app for sure, and the ability to use the full web page interface on the iPad.

For some reason I don't know....it didn't upload the full size image. Also the date taken is changed. Oh, and the camera is listed as the iPhone instead of the Olympus 1030SWw I used. Apparently Apple or the app I used doesn't know how to retain EXIF info properly? Oh yeah...checking EXIF... No shutter or aperture or ANYTHING! WTF?

This image was slightly adjusted for exposure and sharpened a little. I added a border. No other editing. Almost, SOOC...
