The Atrium on the Caribbean Princess cruise ship. This is SOOC, unedited. The setting used was the art mode Diorama in my Olympus EM-5 OM-D.
I thought this environment and image was perfectly suited to the diorama "tilt/shift" fakery mode, when the camera is in portrait orientation. The whole image was in acceptable focus, but with the art mode used the left and right are pleasantly blurred. This generally gives the diorama tilt/shift sense blurring the top and bottom of an image, but since Olympus didn't use the camera's ability to know if it was in portrait or landscape orientation the blur is rotated in portrait mode.
A creative use of a creative mode, I think, to achieve a look that is not what is intended by the art mode, but exactly what I wanted.
Closure - one of the Gestalt Principles. Closure happens when an image is incomplete. When a partial image is seen people perceive the whole by filling in the missing information on their own.
