Honda Nighthawk 700sc, resting outside the dorms at Penn State Harrisburg Campus.
Closure - one of the Gestalt Principles. Closure happens when an image is incomplete. When a partial image is seen people perceive the whole by filling in the missing information on their own.

Baby, it's cold outside.
New First Bikes
What was your first new bike?
Honda Hawk GT 650 here. I bought it with a few miles on the clock. It was a demo bike. I got a nice discount for that.
Scanned from print. 35mm Nikon 4004s most likely with 50mm lens. Unedited, except for the license plate blur.
Still today a gorgeous piece of machinery, and a great ride that I should put back on the road.
Between Classes
Honda Hawk GT 650 parked in front of my apartment during my time at Penn State.
I added the fairing. The gas tank has a painting of the grim reaper on it. Shortly after this I built my own rear fender removal kit.
Scanned print from Nikon 4004s 35mm using pandigital scanner. Cropped and straightened, added contrast and saturation in photoshop.

They say we're young and we don't know
Honda Hawk 650 GT. From the pictures with this one, I'd say this is the first day I owned the bike. Memories... Oh, but I still own the bike!
I think the image was taken using my old Nikon 4004s and 50mm lens.
Scanned from print using a Pandigital film/print/slide scanner. Not great quality. I'm looking at getting a "real" scanner for film. This was quick and easy to use though, and certainly a good choice for some people's needs.

Habeus Corpus secures every man here...

Our citizens are divided into two political sects.
One which fears the people most, the other the government.

A shot of the Jefferson Memorial experience. The crowd was only getting larger as we were there. Most people were respectful, but the ranger did have to remind a few people where they were...

Done in a bit of a kodachrome 25 style.
Sensibility of mind...
...is indeed the parent of every virtue: but it is the parent of much misery too.

Preserving the Union
This should need no description.
Handheld shot at night, when the lighting is the most dramatic. More editing than it looks like.
"In this temple, as in the hearts of the people for whom he saved the Union, the memory of Abraham Lincoln is enshrined forever."
I aspire to have created a photo that is even a small part as great as the man and memorial.
Ghost of wars past
Made at the Korean War Memorial in Washington DC on the National Mall.
As much as you want to know
This is an image of the number 1 statue.
I recommend this memorial at dusk for the most powerful effect. The wall of faces and these statues are very capable of haunting you.
Multiverse DC
You either like it or you don't.
Composed in front of the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum.
3 birds over Jefferson

Not much of an "Occupy". Few tents. Few people. How many tents are empty?
Read the sign to know what's really important.

Crowded. So many people. It's hard to get past that, especially if you want to take pictures...
